Daniel Lucas, CFA is the Vice President of Quantitative Research & Trading at Merk Investments LLC, where he focuses on systematic investment strategies and currencies trading, and oversees the development of algorithmic trading systems. He is Portfolio Manager for Merk’s Quant FX Program which trades in G10 currencies. Prior to joining Merk Investments, he gained experience as Quantitative Analyst at Kellner Capital and as M&A Associate at Network Corporate Finance, an investment bank in Duesseldorf, Germany. He also worked at Deutsche Bank's FX & Commodities Options Trading desk in Frankfurt, Germany, trading a variety of currencies and precious metals derivatives. Daniel holds a M.Sc. in Financial Engineering (MFE) from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley as well as a Master’s Degree in Finance and Economics from the University of Stuttgart. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder.
